Celebrating With Teddy Bears

10 Jul

Today we’re celebrating “National Teddy Bear Picnic Day“. While this is a lesser known holiday who’s to say that it’s not as equally as important as others! I mean, most of us had a teddy bear at one point or another in our lives, right?!

We can thank Morris and Rose Michtom for the invention of the teddy bear and thereby the celebrations of these cuddly toys. Morris and Rose conceived and created teddy bears acting on inspiration from President Theodore Roosevelt who in 1902 refused to shoot a baby bear while hunting. Today, we celebrate teddy bears in many shapes, sizes and events all over the world!

Enjoy the sweet images from a teddy bear inspired baby shower that I Do Linen‘s was a part of. This event was designed in the masculine satin colors of Chocolate Brown and Carolina Blues – with teddy bear centerpieces throughout the room. Held in the ballroom of the Marriott Renaissance Atlanta Midtown this was an event cute enough for baby boy but most importantly chic enough for the Mom-to-Be and guests attending!

Three Top Fashion & Event Linen Trends This Summer

29 Jun

Fashion trends change every season, and during this time of year Summer trends are in full swing.  This Fashion Friday we’re sharing three top trends for fashion and event linen selection this season. Trends that are wearable on the person and shareable on the tabletop. It’s all about taking risks and having fun!

1. Monochrome

Monochrome as a combination of black and white. It’s every where you look in fashion magazines and boutiques. It’s also a color scheme that we’re seeing requested for event decor of all types of events. This is a trend that’s easy to pull off, and is appropriate for all seasons. Not to mention one that’s timeless when looking back on pictures of your life celebration event.

2. Blue

Cobalt blue dresses were definitely hot on the catwalks this year. In linens, we’re seeing this color requested for events from corporate meetings to weddings (yes, even weddings!). It’s a statement color for sure. But one that’s so much fun to design event decor around – we love it!

3. Metallics

Oh yes, one of the most talked about trends of the season! Several designers made huge statements with metallics during Fashion Week this year. For event linens we mostly hear request for silver and gold – but runway metallics also included green, pink and blue (how fun, right?!).  This trend is attention-seeking and fun – a definite “wow” when used to anchor your tablescape.

Textile Tuesday Linen – Pewter Flocked

18 Jun

This Textile Tuesday we’re shining the spotlight on our Pewter Flocked linen. Made from fabric with a traditional feel – it’s equisite contemporary details give it a richness  that lends itself not just to special cake tables but also to guest seating tables. Layered over a solid or sparkle linen, the beautiful pewter color is the perfect “neutral” to bring into a dramatic event environment.

I Do Linens carries Pewter Flocked in a variety of sizes. Let us know if you’d like more information on reserving it for a future event. Or schedule a time to visit our showroom where you can put your eyes and hands on this beauty!

Sweet Candy Table Linens

2 Jun

Have you heard? June is National Candy Month! It’s silly, but there are so many good memories in life that involve candy. What’s really interesting though is to see what a worldwide industry candy has become and how it’s now a part of so many of the celebration events that I Do Linens services.

This special month got us thinking about the candy tables and bars we’ve been a part of. It got us really excited to share some of our favorites (and their linens of course!) from events over the years.

And should you find yourself craving something sweet after you’ve looked over the “event eye candy” below then we recommend you visit Dylan’s Candy Bar. If you’re not familiar with Dylan’s Candy Bar, they have a New York City location that’s 15,000 square feet – making it the world’s largest candy store! Just one more yummy example of just how integrated candy has become in our society.

Casual Glam…a Southern Thing!

15 Apr

The I Do Linens team throughly loved working with couple Blair and Brian in late 2012 for their Southern wedding. A sweet couple – but what we fell in love with the most was their passion to keep their wedding casual + glam. Casually glam you ask? We do that! And do it really well! Check out the photographs of Justin Demuttis Photography that captured the lovely details of the table linens, napkins, custom pillows, beanbags and decals for cornhole games that we coordinated for the couple.

And if you want to know more about Blair and Brian’s beautiful wedding read about their love story and full wedding details on the Southern Weddings blog.

Melissa + Leonard = You Make Loving You So Easy

31 Mar

Last October we had the dream opportunity of working with a lovely couple, Melissa and Leonard on their wedding at the Biltmore Ballrooms. It’s always a dream for us when the client and their vendor team trust in I Do Linens to create and pull in the elements of what we do best…custom linens, pillows and decals for dance floors.

At load-in day everyone knew this was going to be an event to top many others from 2012. We were beyond thrilled with the way all details and special custom touches came together. Enjoy the beautiful photography of  Janet Howard Studio who captured the magic that day.

This wedding was also highlighted on Munaluchibridal.com – read about Melissa and Leonard’s love story at Melissa + Leonard.
